"Join us."
Working as missionaries takes teamwork. But Amber and I are not a two-person team. Obviously God is the center of our marriage and our working/serving relationship as missionaries. But we’re not a three-person team either. I’d say we’re about a one thousand person team. That might be an exaggeration, but I bet not. We’re blessed to have people all over the country - no, all over the world - praying for us daily, supporting us with finances to live on, and even planning mission trips to serve the people of Costa Rica with us, if only for a short time. We can’t do this alone. And we don’t want to. We want to serve God with you. One the same team. Join us. That’s the motto of our ministry video. Join us in ministry at El Jardin Sagrado. How, you ask? Here are three simple ways you can partner with us and become a vital member of the El Jardin Team:
1. Pray for us regularly - we will update you on things to pray for through regular blog posts and newsletters. We would also like to pray for you, our wonderful team of supporters. If you have requests that we can be praying over, please let us know.
2. Commit to supporting the ministry financially - Our biggest financial need is monthly support. In order to serve Costa Rica, we must have a team of monthly supporters. You can join the El Jardin Team by sending in the Response Card from Global Outreach Mission. Please specify “Nathan & Amber Babcock” on the Response Card or on a Post-It note with your check. The address is Global Outreach Mission, PO Box 2010, Buffalo, NY 14231-2010. (Click here for more information.) Another opportunity to give to the ministry is through “special gifts.” Currently there are two very important needs, critical for the expansion of El Jardin Sagrado (both physically and personnel wise). You can read more about these special giving opportunities here.
3. Come to Costa Rica with a short-term mission team - Join us by participating on a GO Team. We need teams ranging in focus from running medical missions (doctors, nurses, dentists, and helpers), to construction projects, evangelism, and children’s ministry. If you’re interested in leading or being a member of a team (either from your church or elsewhere), please let us know. And it doesn’t hurt to plan several months in advance.
We truly hope you will get involved with the El Jardin Ministry in any way you can. We appreciate your support, encouragement, and prayers more than you know. If you would like to watch a short video about El Jardin Sagrado, the missionaries serving there, and the great need in Costa Rica, just scroll down. We hope you enjoy this glimpse of life in Costa Rica, the ministry at El Jardin, and how you can “join us” in the work being done here. This may not be Oscar-worthy, but I pray that it blesses you as you watch. Enjoy.
