Guatemala Mission Trip in April

Mar 14th, 2007 by Nathan | 2

I don’t know if you caught this in our recent newsletter (I didn’t have enough space to go into too much detail), but Amber and I are going on a short-term medical mission trip to Guatemala next month. We will be doing medical clinics in and around the city of Sumpango. At the time I wrote the newsletter we thought that only Amber would be able to go. But a construction team that was coming to El Jardin had to cancel and now I’m able to go too!

We are very excited. We’ve always wanted to go to Guatemala - and of course we’re always happy about doing medical missions. Plus, we still have to leave Costa Rica every couple of months because of our visa status, so this trip will fulfill that requirement as well. Perfect timing. God’s timing.

We do have a prayer request with regards to this trip though. We planned and budgeted for Amber’s plane ticket. But now that I’m going we have to find a way to pay for an extra plane ticket. We really believe that God has opened the doors for me to go, so we have faith that He will provide a way. But if any of our readers out there have any sky miles and would like to donate them to a good cause, please let us know. The cost of the ticket is $256.

Just a quick note on how things are going here: life doesn’t slow down! March is a “down month” in terms of the number of mission teams (none) and church groups (one) coming to the camp. But we’re busy with construction projects, preparing for two mission teams in April, and of course getting ready for Guatemala. Amber and I are both healthy and happy. Thank you all for your prayers and support. Your love and encouragement means more to us than you know. Take care and God bless. Que Dios le bendiga.

We will be praying for that plane ticket…

Where in Guatemala are you going? You know Katie and I loved it when we went. The people there are awesome! -So humble, kind, and gracious. It, like Costa Rica, is beautiful and the city of Antigua makes downtown Charleston look new… I hope you have a great trip!

I just had to get up from the computer to watch VCU beat the Dukies in the first round!.. I hope that you somehow saw that! Coach K looked like he was about to throw up. -It was great!!!

    Love you guys!
