This Weekend’s Box Score

Aug 26th, 2007 by Nathan | 0

Another busy weekend!  We held a banquet on Friday night honoring the mothers.  The youth group organized and sponsored the event — and did a great job!  And this morning we held our regular service of La Iglesia de la Alegría del Señor.  Here are the highlights:

  • We had over 100 people in attendance for the mother’s banquet.  The youth group organized everything — the meal, entertainment, flowers and gifts.  There were a lot of smiling moms.
  • Fifty-two attended the church service this morning.  We are regularly cracking the 50 mark for weekly attendance.  Momentum is building.
  • Pastor Jose gave a great sermon this morning on communion.  We examined the passage on the Lord’s Supper in 1 Corinthians.  We also took communion for the first time as a church body.
  • There’s definitely “buzz” in the community about the new church.  People are talking.  Hopefully we’ll get some more of those people — especially those who have been turned off to church in the past — to attend.  I love to keep repeating myself: God is at work in the Orosi Valley!

That’s a wrap on this weekend.  Que Dios le bendiga.
