Farewell, Costa Rica

Nov 6th, 2007 by Nathan | 0

We’ve been on the road for the last couple of days, so I’ve been unable to write. Our big move – the next leg in our adventure in missions – began on Sunday. We left our beloved home, Orosi, and set out for Nicaragua (where we are now, visiting with the directors of the mission agency here in Managua before flying back to the States on Friday).

And so our time in Costa Rica is coming to an end: thirteen months of incredible experiences and unforgettable friendships. We had our shares of highs (such as successfully chasing down the phone company truck) and lows (like having the phone and Internet not work…for several months). I don’t think there’s ever been a period in my life when I’ve worked harder or learned more. And through it all God was faithful. When we felt over-worked and overwhelmed, God cared for us, provided for us, and encouraged us. All things did work together for good. We thank the Father for a wonderful experience. Even more, we thank Him for allowing us to know the warmth of Tico friendships. We’ll always love Costa Rica and its people.

I’ll write more this week about our plans for the future and our itinerary in the coming days, weeks, and months. But until then, and for the last time as resident Ticos, farewell and Que Dios le bendiga.
