Missionary Blogs: CFCI “Gets It”
I’m going to pat my mission agency on the back today. Christ for the City’s central office sent out the monthly newsletter today to the missionaries in the field. As always it was great: lots of great stories and information from CFCI ministries around the world. But it also contained a blurb that naturally caught my attention:
Do you Blog?
It’s a great way to get information out about your ministries! Also, blogs draw people to your websites and move you up on the Google and Yahoo search lists. If you don’t have a blog, please consider starting one! You can blog every day or once a week. It’s an ideal medium for sharing what is on your heart…
We’d like to link up with your blog, so if you have one…let us know about it!…As we receive your blog addresses, we’ll share them with your fellow CFCIers around the world.
Christ for the City International gets it. Unfortunately, many mission agencies don’t.
I’ll be sharing many, many other reasons why blogging is an essential tool for missionaries and ministries worldwide in upcoming posts. Of course it’s more than just having a blog, it’s what you do with it: what you write about, how you write, how frequently, and how you publicize the site. But we’ll get to that later. For now I’ll just say “Thank you” to the CFCI home office for taking the initiative in promoting blogs to the missionaries in the field!

OK, so three posts completed and no comments … what’s up with that, yo? Actually, I am honored to provide the first comment. Will this new blog replace ridiculous conversations had face to face in Chucktown? I think not. Speaking of blogging, have you checked mine out lately? If not, I posted Aug 8, 2007, so make sure you don’t miss it.

Sorry, Bryan, someone beat you to it! But I’ll always remember that you were the second person to comment on the new blog! By the way, I love the work you’ve done on your blog. Keep it up.
