Matt Chandler: Sermon Videos and Fans

It seems that I’m not the only Matt Chandler fan out there. My buddy from Charleston, Matt, blogged this as I was writing on “Missional Living.” (Read the comments for some great links to sermon videos.)
And I happen to know that a lot of other loyal listeners are blessed weekly by the Village Church sermon podcast (Rheagan, Tiffany, Bill, Bryan, and Christa to name a few). We have all of the makings of a Matt Chandler fan club here!

Nice blog. I got here from the christiansontheclock trackback. I’m the one who snuck the Chandler video links over there for Matt and yes, I’m a big fan of Matt Chandler. His message on John the Baptist last week was really chock full of intense understanding of what obedience is and more importantly - what it is not.
Anyway, regarding the videos, I also have a video of MC at Baylor in 2006 and one of him at Dallas Theological in 2006. I may put them up as downloadable links from my home machine. I use xbmc to stream videos from my PC to my TV so having videos is a real blessing for me. My wife and I can watch some good teaching rather than TV sitcoms.

I’ve heard MC talk about John the Baptist before. He has a great explanation of the message John receives from Jesus in prison. It was basically a prophecy from Isaiah, leaving out the last line, which was, “I will set the captives free.” In other words, Jesus was telling John, “You’re going to die in prison.”
You don’t hear that from too many pastors!
Chandler tells it to you straight though: verse by verse through a passage (or “text” as he likes to say).
