Serving with Eyes Wide Open: Doing Short-Term Missions with Cultural Intelligence
I had the perfect Saturday morning this weekend. I discovered my new favorite coffee shop and I finished a great book that’s really challenging my thinking on cross-cultural ministry and short-term missions. The book is Serving with Eyes Wide Open: Doing Short-Term Missions with Cultural Intelligence by David A. Livermore. I got so much out of it that I’m going to begin a series of posts — more like brain dumps — of the most interesting, relevant, thought-provoking, and ministry-altering material over on my “personal reflections, life, leadership, and modern missions” blog.
This series could take me through next week…or it could take several weeks! I’m writing to tell you this because the subject matter is relevant. Obviously. But I’m doing the series on my other blog so as not to “clog up” Missions Minded with post after post on topics unrelated to “ministry glimpses,” the ultimate objective of this website.
With that fine print out of the way, If you’re involved in cross-cultural ministry, short-term missions, or if you just have an interest in reaching the world for Christ while avoiding the mistakes that give credence to the concept of the “ugly American,” pick up your copy of Serving with Eyes Wide Open and check out “Part I” of my “book report” at nathanbabcock.com!
