Grace Church Medical Mission Team in Rivas, Nicaragua
Amber, Mary, Fabricio, and Alcides will be with a medical mission team from Grace Church in Greenville, SC this week in southern Nicaraguan city of Rivas (Amber and Mary for the full 9 days, Fabricio and Alcides for half of the week). As with all mission teams, we’re asking for your prayers this week for successful ministry — for hundreds of patients to receive physical and spiritual care — and for a great experience for all of the team participants, church volunteers, and the patients they will be treating.
But especially for this week and this team, we’re asking for your prayers for good health and safety. The heat index forecast for Rivas this week is well over 100 degrees. That’s hot. That kind of heat doesn’t usually mix well with “Cheles“! Pray for everyone to stay hydrated and as cool as possible!
Below is a map of Nicaragua — to give you an idea of where in the world the team will be. (Rivas is in the southwest courner of the country.) Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers this week!

I’d love to hear about your experience down there…I am part of a group of surgeons who’d like to set up a annual trip, possibly to Rivas hospital. This is just in the beginning planning stages, so I’d welcome any feedback you have! Thanks and God Bless!

Ben,
That sounds great! Rivas seems to be very open to hosting medical mission teams, working with them, and learning from them. The nursing school in Rivas–as well as the hospital–have been very helpful to us on our trips there. Please keep us posted on your plans!
