Another Quick Update from Nathan & Amber
I know, I know. We’re really falling of the blog wagon recently. What can I say? With Amber away for a week on a medical mission team and me here trying to hold down the fort — and cheer my Tar Heels to victory! — it’s been hard to find time for blogging! But I will give you another quick update on what we’re up to this week and promise to post some more detailed blog entries — complete with pictures — later in the week.
- First and foremost, I did get to watch Carolina’s tournament run…and yes, I am still on Cloud Nine!
- Amber was with the Grace Church medical mission team last week in Rivas, Nicaragua. It was a great week of ministry…but I’m glad to have Amber home now! Amber will post pictures and stories from the week soon.
- This week is “Semana Santa” (Holy Week), celebrated by millions of Christians worldwide (fervently celebrated in Catholic, Latino countries like Nicaragua). In this country, Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, and Friday are national holidays. Our base is throwing a pool party this afternoon for the occasion — and to celebrate the 7th anniversary of CFCI-Nicaragua.
- Also in conjunction with Semana Santa, Amber and I are watching Joseph and Josecito this week! The workers at the orphanage have a few days off, so we get to take the boys home for a few days! We’ve been looking forward to this for awhile now. We leave a few hours to pick them up…just in time for our office pool party. I promise you, we’ll have pictures and video clips from our time with Joseph and Josecito to share very soon!
That catches you up! Again, please forgive us for our blog tardiness. We’ll make it up to you this week. God bless you — especially during this Easter season. Que Dios les bendiga.
