The second wave of our “summer tsunami” of short-term mission teams starts today with the arrival of the youth team from Kirk of the Hills Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Carey will lead that team along with Alcides and Paola. They will serve in Rivas, Nicaragua doing children and youth ministry.

Read full post...The “Summer STM (short-term mission) Slam” is upon us. The first mission team of the summer arrives today from Charlotte. And following this one will be six more teams in the next eight weeks! Here’s CFCI-Nicaragua’s summer:

Nicaragua is dealing with major economic woes. The price of food and water is going up daily, it seems. (By my estimation, prices have gone up by about 20 to 30 percent since we arrived in March.)

This storm is turning out to be nastier than expected:
